The cost to pave your driveway will depend on many factors: the size of the driveway, whether the existing asphalt has to be removed or can be paved over, if extra gravel needs to be installed, and the location being paved. These are just a few questions that need to be answered! This is why each job is priced on an individual basis.

We do not give a flat rate per square foot price as there are many factors that can affect the cost. Give us a call for a free estimate!

No, asphalt is softer than concrete so anything sharp can leave a mark or dig in, especially on a hot day. If you put a piece of wood, metal or rubber under these it will help protect the asphalt from being damaged.

Typically, a well-installed driveway of any material (with proper care and maintenance) should last 20+ years before any major repairs are necessary!

Although this is a common problem since this portion of the driveway is actually the city/county's property (aka the apron) a permit must be applied for.

Most asphalt driveways can be resurfaced (new layer), but if the existing driveway is very unlevel, cracked, or is a concrete driveway then complete excavation is required.

Asphalt is the longest-lasting material for driveways as it is impervious to ice-melt chemicals and salt in winter months, whereas concrete is extremely vulnerable.

In general, concrete is 2-3 times the price of asphalt. Brick is much higher still, and dependent upon choice of brick.

Although asphalt does require sealcoating with an asphalt-based sealer, bi-yearly is usually recommended.

Asphalt gets its black colour from the adhesive, asphaltic tar, used in the manufacturing process. As the tar degrades, the surface of the driveway will revert to the natural colour of the stone in the mix, which is usually grey.
